PARTS & LABOUR WARRANTY POLICY

Raptors Auto Care | Alberta, Canada

Our Commitment

At Raptors Auto Care, we stand behind the quality of our repairs and the parts we install. Our goal is to address legitimate warranty concerns fairly, transparently, and professionally.

This policy outlines the standard warranty coverage provided by our shop. All warranty terms are subject to applicable Alberta law, including any rights or protections that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

1. Parts Warranty

Unless otherwise stated on the invoice, parts supplied and installed by Raptors Auto Care are covered by a one (1) year parts warranty beginning on the date stated on the invoice.

  • The standard parts warranty covers the defective part only. Labour is not automatically included beyond the applicable labour warranty.
  • Where a manufacturer or supplier provides different warranty terms, the applicable warranty terms for that part will be disclosed and applied as appropriate.
  • Parts coverage is subject to the applicable warranty conditions and an assessment of the cause of failure.
  • Normal wear and tear, misuse, neglect, improper maintenance, and failures caused by conditions unrelated to the original repair are not covered under the standard parts warranty.
  • Customer-supplied parts are not covered by Raptors Auto Care’s parts warranty.
  • Used, recycled, and salvage parts are supplied without an additional warranty from Raptors Auto Care, unless otherwise stated in writing.

Nothing in this section removes any rights or obligations that apply under Alberta law.

2. Labour Warranty

Labour performed by Raptors Auto Care is covered by a 30-day or 6,000 km labour warranty, whichever comes first, beginning on the date stated on the invoice.

During the applicable labour warranty period, if an assessment determines that a concern is directly related to the original repair or workmanship, the applicable corrective labour will be covered.

Where the concern is directly related to the original repair, the applicable part may also be covered under the parts warranty.

This warranty may extend to related corrective work required as a direct result of a problem with the original repair, subject to the circumstances and applicable law.

The labour warranty does not automatically cover unrelated mechanical failures, newly identified problems, normal wear and tear, or damage caused by circumstances outside the original repair.

The 6,000 km limit is measured from the vehicle’s mileage recorded on the original repair invoice. The labour warranty ends when either 30 days have passed or 6,000 km have been driven, whichever occurs first.

3. Warranty Claims and Return to Our Shop

Customers must contact Raptors Auto Care as soon as reasonably possible after identifying a potential warranty concern.

Warranty inspections and repairs must ordinarily be performed at our shop so that we can assess the concern and determine the appropriate corrective action.

If another repair facility is required, the customer must discuss the situation with a member of our team and obtain authorization before proceeding, whenever reasonably possible.

Repairs performed elsewhere without prior discussion and authorization may not qualify for reimbursement under our standard warranty policy. Exceptions may be considered where agreed to by Raptors Auto Care or where required by applicable law.

Customers should retain all relevant invoices, diagnostic reports, photographs, and other documentation relating to a warranty concern.

4. Diagnostic Charges

When a vehicle returns with a concern potentially related to a previous repair, Raptors Auto Care will assess the concern to determine whether it falls within the applicable warranty coverage.

  • If the concern is confirmed to result from a covered defect or workmanship issue, applicable warranty coverage will be provided.
  • If the concern is unrelated to the original repair, additional diagnostic charges may apply.
  • If further testing is required to investigate an unrelated or additional concern, the customer will be advised of applicable charges before additional work proceeds.
  • Part removal, component disassembly, reassembly, or other additional labour required for diagnosis is not automatically included in warranty coverage.

All diagnostic work and charges remain subject to applicable authorization and estimate requirements.

5. Maintenance and Vehicle Condition

Proper vehicle maintenance is important to the continued performance and reliability of vehicle components.

Warranty coverage may be affected when a failure is caused or contributed to by:

  • Failure to follow applicable maintenance recommendations.
  • Low, incorrect, or contaminated fluids.
  • Overheating or contaminated fuel.
  • Misuse, neglect, or improper operation.
  • Failure to address a known mechanical concern.
  • Other conditions unrelated to the original repair.

Where relevant, customers may be asked to provide maintenance records or other documentation to help determine the cause of a failure.

A maintenance-related issue does not automatically cancel coverage for every part or repair. Each claim will be assessed individually, including whether the failure is related to the original repair and whether the applicable parts or labour warranty remains in effect.

6. Normal Wear and Tear

The standard warranty does not cover ordinary deterioration or the expected consumption of components through normal use.

Examples may include:

  • Brake pads and other wear-related brake components.
  • Clutch friction components.
  • Wiper blades.
  • Light bulbs.
  • Other routine maintenance and wear items.

These exclusions apply to normal wear and tear and do not automatically exclude a legitimate claim involving a covered defect or improper workmanship.

7. Customer-Supplied Parts

Parts supplied by the customer are not covered by Raptors Auto Care’s standard parts warranty.

Any manufacturer or supplier warranty applicable to customer-supplied parts remains subject to that provider’s terms.

Labour performed to install customer-supplied parts is not covered by our standard labour warranty unless otherwise agreed in writing, subject to any rights or obligations that apply under Alberta law.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that supplied parts are appropriate for the vehicle and intended repair.

8. Used, Recycled and Salvage Parts

Used, recycled, and salvage parts are supplied without an additional warranty from Raptors Auto Care, unless a different warranty is expressly provided in writing.

Any warranty provided by the original manufacturer or supplying business remains subject to its own terms and conditions.

The absence of an additional shop warranty does not remove any rights or obligations that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

9. Vehicle Modifications

Aftermarket modifications, performance tuning, lifted or lowered suspension systems, and other vehicle modifications may affect warranty coverage where they contribute to a failure or interfere with the original repair.

Where modifications were made after our repair, the warranty concern will be assessed to determine whether the modifications contributed to the problem.

Where modifications existed before our repair, the circumstances will be reviewed individually to determine whether they are related to the concern.

Pre-existing modifications do not automatically void all warranty coverage.

10. Commercial Vehicles and Severe-Duty Use

The same standard warranty terms generally apply to commercial vehicles and vehicles used for delivery, transportation, or other business purposes.

Warranty claims will be assessed based on the type of use, operating conditions, maintenance history, and cause of failure.

Where severe-duty operation or excessive use contributes to a failure, coverage may be affected in accordance with the applicable warranty terms and law.

11. Subsequent or Additional Damage

If a failure results in damage to other vehicle components, responsibility for the additional repairs will be assessed based on the cause of the failure, the relationship to the original repair, the applicable warranty terms, and applicable law.

Where additional damage is unrelated to the original repair or results from circumstances outside the scope of the warranty, the customer will generally be responsible for the associated repair costs.

Where appropriate, Raptors Auto Care may offer reduced labour rates as a goodwill accommodation to help minimize the customer’s expense.

Any such accommodation is assessed individually and does not automatically establish coverage for future repairs.

12. Towing and Transportation

Towing, rental vehicles, transportation, accommodation, lost time, and other incidental expenses are not automatically included in our standard warranty.

In certain circumstances, Raptors Auto Care may agree to assist with these expenses on a case-by-case basis.

Any assistance or reimbursement must be discussed with and authorized by a member of our team in advance, wherever reasonably possible, subject to applicable law.

13. Warranty Resolution

The standard remedy for a covered warranty concern is the applicable repair or replacement of the defective part and/or corrective labour.

Refunds are not the standard remedy under this policy. They may be considered in exceptional circumstances, subject to the situation, any applicable written agreement, and applicable law.

Raptors Auto Care will assess each claim based on the original repair, the reported concern, the cause of failure, and the applicable warranty terms.

Nothing in this section restricts any remedy to which a customer is legally entitled.

14. Warranty Start Date

Unless otherwise specified in writing, warranty periods begin on the date stated on the original repair invoice.

For the labour warranty, coverage ends when either 30 days have passed from the invoice date or the vehicle has been driven 6,000 km from the mileage recorded on the original invoice, whichever occurs first.

Where a manufacturer, supplier, or specific written warranty establishes different terms, those terms will be considered in determining the applicable coverage.

15. Warranty Assessment and Authorization

All warranty claims are subject to reasonable inspection and assessment by Raptors Auto Care.

Customers will be advised of any proposed chargeable diagnostic work or additional repairs before that work proceeds, in accordance with applicable authorization and estimate requirements.

A reported concern is not automatically covered simply because it occurs during a warranty period. Coverage depends on the nature and cause of the concern, the applicable warranty terms, and applicable law.

All estimates, authorizations, and additional work will be handled in accordance with Alberta’s applicable automotive service and repair requirements.

16. Applicable Law and Specific Warranty Terms

This policy is intended to describe the standard warranty offered by Raptors Auto Care. It does not replace or override applicable legislation or any specific written warranty that applies to a repair.

Where a specific warranty is stated on an invoice, repair order, or separate written agreement, its terms will be considered alongside this standard policy and applicable law.

If any provision of this policy conflicts with a mandatory legal requirement, the legal requirement will prevail.
